2011 Nightingale Awards

Six Colorado nurses received a 2011 Nightingale Luminary Award for Excellence in Human Caring, including Centura Health’s own Lorna Prang, clinical nurse specialist in the ICU at Littleton Adventist Hospital. She was a recipient of the statewide award, nursing’s highest honor. In addition, three Centura nurses including Mary Ellen Albright, RN (Mercy Regional), Karen Hoffman-Maroney, RN (St. Mary-Corwin), and Melissa Richey, RN (St. Anthony Central) were finalists for the award.

These passionate health care providers go above and beyond in their respective fields, carrying on the honor, philosophy and practices of Florence Nightingale, a 19th century nursing pioneer who epitomized the art of helping people toward their optimal health.

Congratulations to all of our Nightingale Award winners, finalists and nominees, who practice with excellence and make a positive impact on those around them.
