Auction, tourney raise $45,025 for Heartland Cancer Center patients

(Great Bend, KS) - Those who donated money and time, and played in the golf tournament collaborated to raise more than $45,000 for local cancer patients. The recent St. Rose Auction & Golf Classic proceeds will benefit the Heartland Cancer Center Patient Care Fund.

St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center owns Heartland Cancer Center.

“This generous community once again came together to raise much-needed funds for our neighbors who are affected by cancer,” said Mark Mingenback, St. Rose director of business strategy and marketing. “Everyone can be assured that all proceeds go directly to our fund that helps patients who are uninsured or underinsured.

“Each patient has unique needs,” Mingenback added. “On a regular basis we see what the proceeds of this fundraiser can mean to a family.”

The total amount collected for the patient fund since the beginning of the annual event now stands at $487,025.

“We couldn’t even have attempted this without sponsors, auction donors and bidders, golfers and those who give of their time,” Mingenback said. “Our gratitude is heartfelt.”

St. Rose is part of Centura Health, which connects individuals and families across western Kansas and Colorado with more than 6,000 physicians, 15 hospitals, seven senior-living communities, physician practices and clinics, and home-care and hospice services.
