  Dr. "B", or "Dr. Kit", as some of his younger patients know him, practices family medicine and urgent care with a foundation in the bio/psycho/social and spiritual model of medicine that recognizes the importance of all aspects of life in achieving truly good health. He maintains a long-standing interest in urgent care, aviation, international and wilderness medicine.
• Dr. Brekhus enjoys a long-standing interest in heart protection, health promotion and disease prevention. He also appreciate the value of a healthy diet, an active lifestyle and appropriate nutritional supplementation in achieving optimal health. In addition to practiving family medicine and urgent care, Dr. Brekhus also performs executive physicals. He also has a passion for world health and has had the good fortune to participate in medical relief and research projects in Haiti, China and Mexico. "My family and I look forward to many more future opportunities to help serve in global relief efforts." Dr. Brekhus has been practicing family and urgent care in Evergreen since 1992. He graduated "With Distinction" from the University of Washington and was voted, "Most Outstanding Student," by his peers upon graduation from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Mercy Family Medicine Program in Denver. During his training he received several awards for international medicine, teaching excellence and outstanding performance. He is a Board Certified Family Physician and a member in good standing of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also certified in Advance Cardiac life Support.
