As a pharmacy leader at Centura, you will enjoy:
- Strong system-support for our pharmacy directors. Centura Health’s Pharmacy Directors meet monthly to discuss issues and find solutions to challenges faced by today’s pharmacy directors. As a new pharmacy director within Centura Health you will be able to draw on the knowledge and support of 11 other directors willing to share best practices, policies, formulary decisions, regulatory issues, and I.T. solutions.
- Progressive view of pharmacy's role in healthcare. At Centura Health, leadership values the important role of the Clinical Pharmacist in patient care. Pharmacists spend a great deal of time on the nursing units, in physician rounds, directly impacting patient care to ensure the best pharmaceutical support is provided.
- Support from a National Pharmacy Council. All Centura pharmacists enjoy access to the assistance and expertise of over 70 hospitals owned by Catholic Health Initiatives. The result? 24/7 information available right at your finger tips!
A testimonial from a recently hired pharmacy leader, Kelley Griffith:
"As a newly hired Director of Pharmacy unfamiliar with the Centura system, I had many questions that could only be truly answered when I experienced the role for myself:
• Would I be fully staffed? Would I have the resources to STAY fully staffed? Would I have the resources to be able to treat my staff like professionals and not burn out? Would my staff possess the expertise and level of engagement to meet the obligations of the department? If not, would I have the resources to get them there?
• Were the resources going to be available for me to fix the things that needed fixing?
• Were they honest about the issues in the pharmacy - current and upcoming?
• Were the other directors inside the hospital interested in engagement and working together?
• Were there opportunities for growth? Were the appropriate resources allocated for that growth?
The answers to these questions were all yes and are still yes and even though there were definitely more things that needed work here than I expected. I felt like I could do more with what was already here than other environments of which I had competitive offers.
I think Centura has been exceptional so far! It’s certainly the only place I've worked that I can say has committed to these areas to help make me successful."
