Centura Health understands that connection with family during a hospital stay plays an important role in whole person healing. Each of our 17 hospitals across Colorado, Utah and western Kansas now have iPads and virtual meeting technology available so that families can still be united with loved ones in the hospital when it’s not possible to interact with them physically.

Hospital rooms where patients are required to remain isolated because of an infection, such as coronavirus, are equipped with a device configured to host Zoom meeting calls so patients can communicate with family, friends and their direct caregivers. Staff at each of our facilities have been trained to help patients initiate these calls.

Data collected on isolation’s impact on healing significantly shows that patients struggling with a sickness need to hear a familiar voice to help them on their journey back to whole health. This new capability at Centura supports our philosophy of caring for the mind, body and spirit of our patients. We believe that hearing a loving, familiar voice is integral to the healing process, and we are pleased to offer this safe and effective way to keep this important aspect of patient recovery in place.
