As a primary stroke center Porter Adventist Hospital provides staffing, infrastructure and programs to stabilize and treat most acute stroke patients.

TIA Clinic
The TIA Clinic at Porter Adventist Hospital is the region’s first outpatient clinic that can assess and diagnose transient ischemic attacks (TIA) with unrivaled speed and expertise. The TIA Clinic streamlines patient care and testing into a single day – which is not only convenient but potentially life-saving. Patients can expect: a full exam, complete diagnostic testing and stroke/TIA education; visits with a cardiac nurse practitioner who performs a H&P and neurology provider who reviews results, discusses concerns and implements a stroke prevention care plan; and, results and recommendations being sent to the patient's primary care provider.
