Chief Executive Officer
Jillyan McKinney joined Avista Adventist Hospital - Centura Health, as Chief Executive Officer in November of 2017. Known as a rising star within the Adventist Health System, McKinney has a reputation for bringing greater physician alignment and leading her teams to a collective goal of improving the health and well-being of their community.
Having the opportunity to build on Avista Adventist Hospital’s rich legacy, which dates back over 100 years to founder Dr. Harvey Kellogg, is an appealing challenge for McKinney who says, “I believe in these early adopted Adventist principals of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Helping an already impressive group of caregivers carry on their mission to build flourishing communities and deliver whole-human care is going to be incredibly rewarding.”
Previously, McKinney served as Vice President of Strategic Business Development, and Vice President of Operations at Florida Hospital. She earned her BS in Business Administration from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Ala., her MBA from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla, and completed her Management Residency with Adventist Health System in Winter Park, Fla.
Ron Robinson, MD, MPH, MBA
Chief Medical Officer
Ron Robinson, MD, MPH, MBA assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Avista Adventist Hospital in September of 2016. Dr. Robinson has been on staff at Avista since 2003 and currently serves as a managing partner of High Plains Anesthesia Consultants and Chief of Staff at Avista Adventist Hospital. Prior to his time at Avista, Dr. Robinson served as a flight surgeon for both NASA’s Johnson Space Center and the Texas Air National Guard.
Dr. Robinson completed his residency in Anesthesiology at UT Houston and received his MD and MPH from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He also earned his MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Additionally, Dr. Robinson has studied leadership with both the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership and Centura Health.
Dr. Robinson’s passion is applying cutting edge business and leadership skills to unlock the potential of medical practices, hospitals, and healthcare systems in Colorado.
Lavah Lowe, RN, MBA, FACHE
Chief Nursing Officer
Lavah Lowe, RN, MBA, FACHE, is Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and V.P. of Patient Care Services for Avista Adventist Hospital, a 114 bed comprehensive medical center that provides a full-range of medical specialties and exceptional health care to the Louisville, Broomfield and the surrounding Boulder area communities. Within this role she also serves as a CNO for the Centura Health Mountains and North Denver Operating Group (MNDOG) collaborating with colleagues across the entire Centura Health (18 hospital) system to develop strategic and operational plans for enhancing clinical effectiveness, patient/associate satisfaction and value-based care at the community level.
As a seasoned healthcare executive with over 25 years’ experience, she has extensive hospital leadership experience as a Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer to include operational expertise and a dedication to quality care that creates immediate impact on patient care, revenue, physician relations and employee satisfaction. Prior to her administrative roles, she served as a registered nurse in a number of areas including Med/Surg, ED, OR and Cardiac ICU in addition to Administrative Nursing Supervisor.
She is a Registered Nurse with a Master in Business Administration from William Woods University and earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of Missouri in Health Service Management with an emphasis in Gerontology.
A certified Fellow of the American College of Health Executives (FACHE), she is also a member of American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders (CONL). She was selected as a Missouri Governor’s Conference on Economic Development 2012 Project of the Year nominee, and is a member of the Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni Association. She has served on various boards including the United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Blood Institute, Domestic Violence, and Urban League of Pinellas County.
Lowe joined Avista Adventist Hospital and the Centura Health organization in the fall of 2015, bringing her expertise gained in diverse settings ranging from a 25 bed critical access hospital to a 480 bed Level I trauma facility.
Chief Financial Officer
Carol Travis joined Avista Adventist Hospital as its Chief Financial Officer in May of 2018. In her role, Carol provides leadership and oversight of hospital operations, financial performance, and stewardship. She has been with Centura Health for nearly 15 years serving in various finance leadership roles. Carol spent time working in the hospital setting, helping our communities flourish at Littleton Adventist, Parker Adventist and Porter Adventist hospitals, and she has also worked at Centura Health’s corporate office. Prior to her work in health care, Carol worked in the assurance and advisory business services division of Ernst & Young, LLP in Denver, CO. Carol is a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and a graduate of Colorado State University.
