Access to Care Amidst Social Distancing:

At Colorado Joint Replacement, we are closely monitoring the latest updates and guidelines related to COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Colorado Department of Public Health.  In order to support social distancing, we have taking the following precautions to care for our patients:
  • Telemedicine visits – now available for follow-up and new patients consultations.
  • Drive-up curbside evaluations for post-op patients to ensure progress is on-track.
  • Scaled down office staff and reducing in-clinic traffic to reduce exposure for everyone.

While there may be a need for an in clinic visit due to an emergent or complex need, we have increased our cleaning procedures including the use of UV lights to desensitize rooms after every visit. Your safety is our number one priority and we will partner with you during this challenging time to continue providing the best care possible.  Call our office today with questions or to schedule an appointment.

What our patients are saying

"I’m back to riding bikes. I’m working out. I don’t hardly have any pain. I’m off all my nerve medicine. My quality of life is where it should be, and where I expect it to be."

When is it Time for Surgery?

The journey to a decision around joint replacement is a very personal one.  Many people attempt the following non-invasive treatments for pain relief before taking the step towards surgery:

  • Glucosamine

  • Medical Injections (Cortisone, viscosupplementation, Hyalgan, Synvisc, Synvisc-One, Supartz, Orthovisc, Monovisc, Gel-One)

  • Tylenol Arthritis & Pain Relievers

  • Supplements

  • Physical Therapy

  • Bracing

Many of the above treatments may be successful, however, if you find they are no longer providing you relief it may be time to consider surgery.  Some symptoms that may be associated with advanced arthritis include:

  • Experiencing pain more frequently in the evenings or while sleeping

  • Inability to perform basic activities of daily living (i.e. grocery shopping, cleaning your home)

  • Use of an assistive device (i.e. walker or cane)

  • Decline in recreational activities

  • Joint pain (hip and knee pain) despite treatment

We are committed to partnering with our patients to develop a comprehensive care plan they are comfortable with.
