  • Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy, or "chemo" as it is often referred to, is a body-wide treatment that uses powerful drugs to destroy cancer cells.

At Cypress Hematology and Oncology we utilize chemotherapy to:

    • Prevent the spread of cancer
    • Slow cancer growth
    • Relieve symptoms caused by cancer
    • Cure cancer by destroying cancerous cells

Depending on the diagnosis and specific treatment plan, chemotherapy can be administered via injection, topical creams, pills, capsules, liquids that a patient swallows, or through intravenous (IV) infusion.  No matter what delivery method is used, the physicians and staff at Cypress Hematology and Oncology try to ensure that every patient undergoing chemotherapy is comfortable and relaxed during the entire process.

  • Clinical Trials

As part of the Porter Cancer Care Center, Cypress Hematology and Oncology has access to clinical trials that give us access to investigational treatments and experiential cancer therapies.

A clinical trial is research (often sponsored by a pharmaceutical company) conducted by physicians on patients to determine the effectiveness of a newly developed drug or technology in a real world setting. Investigational treatments provide patients with additional treatment options otherwise not available while contributing to cancer research.

For more information on current clinical trials, patient eligibility and other considerations, call 303-715-7030 for our office at Porter Adventist Hospital, or 303-269-4420 for our office at Parker Adventist Hospital.
