Cancer Patient & Family Support at Littleton Adventist Hospital

A cancer diagnosis is a life changing event, for both the patient and their loved ones. Research shows people who get the support they need have more favorable outcomes. In response to this and the mission statement of Littleton Adventist Hospital, we offer a wide range of support services to cope with the experience of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Our nurse navigators are on a mission to connect and treat patients' through mind, body and spirit.

Strengthening Your Journey

Nurse Navigators serve as liaisons to help guide patients and their families through the complex healthcare system and provide quality and timely care. They are an integral part of your cancer care team at Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Following is a list of groups and services that can strengthen you on this journey:

  • Genetic Counseling

Littleton Adventist Hospital offers one-on-one genetic counseling to determine an individual’s risk of cancer, including cancer inherited from family members. Each counseling session includes recording the individual’s personal and family history and using that information to make appropriate recommendations for prevention and screening. If the information collected indicates that further genetic testing, such as lab work, is right for you, the counselor will discuss the pros and cons of such testing with you during your session. If you would like more information, call 303-734-2035.

  • Ovarian and Gynecologic Cancer Support Group

The classes will incorporate breath-mediated movement and repetition in yoga postures followed by a brief stay or hold of each posture. The postures are safely done while seated in chairs and while standing. After engaging in a planned series of yoga postures, we will practice specific breathing techniques which serve to reduce stress and bring the class participants into a relaxed, calm and restful state.
