The Breast Care Center Support Group
The Breast Care Center Support Group is a 12-week educational group for women diagnosed with breast cancer within the past year. Each session is topic based and covers various treatment related issues, such as:
- Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy
- Fitness
- Nutrition
- Lymphedema
- and more
The Breast Care Center Support Group meets weekly:
- 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
For information about the next session please call 303-778-5832. This group is offered twice a year and requires registration of at least 10 participants to be held. There is no fee, however, registration is required.

Monthly Breast Cancer Support Group
The Monthly Breast Care Center Support Group is primarily for women diagnosed within the past year and offers education, perspective and support.
This group meets at Porter Adventist Hospital:
- First Tuesday of each month: 12:00 - 1:30 pm

General Cancer Support Groups
The General Cancer Support Group is a six week educational support group for families who have experienced a recent cancer diagnosis. Groups are offered twice a year, typically in the Spring and Fall, with meetings on:
- Wednesday: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Kids Alive - Support for Children of Parents with Cancer
Kids Alive is one of very few programs of its kind in the United States and the only one in the Denver area. This group has served well over 500 children and families and is open to children ages 6-16. The group meets monthly from October through June, usually on the second Saturday of the month. Look Good...Feel Better
This free two-hour program teaches women undergoing cancer treatment how to cope with changes in their appearance and includes:
- 12-step makeup guide
- Skin and nail care
- Demonstrations on use of wigs, scarves and accessories
- Complementary makeup kit
This class is offered twice a year at Porter Adventist Hospital. Contact the American Cancer Society at 303-758-2030, ext. 472 for exact dates. Once you choose a date, you must call and register with Porter at 303-766-3888.

Individual & Family Counseling
Counseling is available to any oncology patient and family at no charge. Services are provided by the clinical nurse specialist for oncology support services. There is no fee but appointments are required.
