Your gift can make a truly meaningful difference in the health and wellness of our community. We gratefully accept donations to the St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation at any time. You may choose to designate your gift to one of our priority funds, or to a program or area that is meaningful to you.
Ways To Help
A gift can be made through a will or living trust which will not reduce your current income. This type of contribution can be specified to include a set dollar amount, a percentage of the estate, or even an asset belonging to the estate.
Naming St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy is wonderful way for our donors to help us ensure the stability of care in our community for future generations.
Charitable Annuities and Trusts
There are many ways to increase your present income and provide continued support for our community in the future. You can reduce the amount of income and estate taxes that might be required, as well as establish a lifetime income.
The St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. The professional staff of the St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation welcomes the opportunity to assist you, along with your financial and legal advisors. We will gladly provide you the information you need to select a giving option that is the best match for your philanthropic and financial goals.
For more information, or to speak to someone about including St. Mary-Corwin in your estate planning, please contact Jayne Mazur, Director of Philanthropy for Southern Colorado at 719-557-5298 or JayneMazur@centura.org
Dorcy Cancer Center
The Dorcy Cancer Center is the third-largest community cancer center in Colorado, serving people from Colorado, Kansas and New Mexico. The Foundation supports many of their programs and services, including the annual Breast Cancer Retreat and Survivor’s Luncheon, Heating Arts programs, and specialized equipment to enhance treatments and healing. Assistance is also available for help with lodging, travel, meals and housing.
Flight For Life®
The Flight For Life® (FFL) rescue helicopter program provides critical care transport, and is equipped with the industry's most current technology and experienced, knowledgeable teams. When a patient is in need of emergency transport, financial status is not a consideration, and FFL responds regardless of the patient's ability to pay. Because of this, and the high costs of aviation services, operating expenses are high. We depend on corporate and private donations to support the capital equipment needs. Lifeguard 4, based at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, has the largest rescue area of all the FFL helicopters, flying from the southeastern edges of Colorado to southern mountains.
Gifts of Remembrance
Memorial gifts may be made for any occasion. Births, anniversaries, deaths and other life-cycle events are wonderful opportunities to create, or add to, a memorial for a loved one or friend. We are pleased to receive a donation in their name and, at your request, can send a note to the person in whose name the gift was made.
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift!
Michael Vislosky Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established by the family of Michael Vislosky, in honor of his distinguished nursing career. Mike worked in the areas of Critical Care, Neuroscience and Nursing Education at St. Mary-Corwin prior to his death. Donations to this fund support scholarships for St. Mary-Corwin associates to further their nursing education.
Caring for our pediatric patients requires highly-skilled, compassionate providers who have both the medical expertise and specialized technology to provide the highest level of care. Gifts made to our pediatric services allow us to provide outstanding care for our tiniest patients.
Sister of Charity Patient Financial Assistance
St. Mary-Corwin is committed to providing world-class health care to all our patients, regardless of their financial well-being. Those eligible for assistance are experiencing a serious financial crisis that impedes their ability to meet their financial obligation to the hospital or interferes with their discharge or long-term care plans. The Foundation provides assistance with prescription medications, in addition to other types of financial support, to insure the healing of mind, body and spirit.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Women’s Health Center
St. Mary-Corwin recently received the Triple Pillar Award, and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) recognized us as a “CHI Breast Center of Excellence,” which significantly raises the bar for breast health care. This designation places the St. Mary-Corwin Breast Center of Excellence in the top 1% of breast centers in the nation! Out of nearly 8,000 centers across the country, we are one of only 11 centers to receive this designation!
Our pledge: “Comprehensive Breast Care for Life”
Wilz Trauma Symposium/Trauma Services
The Wilz Trauma Symposium was started by the medical staff at St. Mary-Corwin to honor Dr. Bill Wilz who served as the trauma director for St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center until his untimely death in 1999. Dr. Wilz is remembered fondly as a teacher, colleague and friend.
With more than 300 participants, the Wilz Symposium is now the largest trauma symposium held in Colorado and offers continuing education credits for emergency medical services, physicians and nursing professionals
