Animal Companion Remembrance Service Scheduled at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center(1)
(PUEBLO, COLO.) Unconditional love is the bond between people and their animal companions. The death of an animal companionwhether it be the family pet, a service animal or rodeo horse, for example-- can be one of lifes most difficult experiences, and marking the end of their life can be traumatic.
To help people find closure from the death of their companion, Spiritual Care Services at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center is hosting an Animal Companion Remembrance. Co-sponsored by Montgomery Steward Funeral Home, this special service of music, prayer and poetry is designed to honor the love, humor, loyalty and solace animal companions provide to so many.
The Service of Animal Companion Remembrance will be held on Sunday, May 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Therese Chapel located in the East Tower of the hospital. People planning to attend are encouraged to bring a small memento of your animal companion, such as a leash, urn, photo, toy, food bowl, etc. Persons of all backgrounds, ages and faith traditions are welcome to attend.
A reception with light refreshments will follow in the Bishops Conference Room across from the chapel. For more information, call (719) 557-5246
