Avista Adventist Hospital Wins National Awards for Outstanding Patient Satisfaction

(LOUISVILLE)The maternity and intensive care units at Avista Adventist Hospital have won national recognition for exceptionally high levels of patient satisfaction. Each received an Excellence Through Insight Award from HealthStream Research, a leading provider of learning and research solutions for the health care industry.

As the award winner nationally in the maternity category, Avista scored highest of 97 hospitals evaluated. Of 250 hospitals in the Intensive Care category, Avista was one of only three in the country to be recognized.

Avista is the regions hospital of choice for maternity care, delivering more babies than any other hospital in Boulder and Broomfield Counties, according to John Sackett, president and chief executive officer. Avistas services include two dedicated surgical suites for emergency deliveries, a high tech nursery and a neonatal intensive care unit staffed by the states most respected neonatologists. The hospital ranks consistently high in patient satisfaction surveys.

Were proud to be nationally recognized for our culture of service excellence," says Kim Crawford, director of quality at Avista. Were constantly focused on improving communication and responsiveness, and we carefully monitor the patient experience."

Our staff and physicians have a legacy of being relentlessly attentive to patients and families and delivering world class service," says Sackett. This award truly belongs to them."

To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracing client of HealthStream Research in 2009. Winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the HealthStream Summit, May 19-20, in Nashville, Tenn.
