Centura Health Achieves Hitrust Csf Certification to Further Mitigate Risk in Third Party Privacy, Security and Compliance
(CENTENNIAL, COLO.) Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, announced that its data center, core infrastructure and electronic health center have earned Certified status for information security by the Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance for the third time. With the HITRUST CSF Certified status, Centura Health’s tools, including Epic, Meditech, Lawson, Patient Portal, Fuji, Mosaiq, Active Directory, Email, ProofPoint, ForcePoint, Splunk, Cisco FireSight IDS\IPS, DUO Security, and FairWarning, meet key healthcare regulations and requirements for protecting and securing sensitive private healthcare information.
HITRUST CSF Certified status indicates that the organization’s data center, core infrastructure and electronic health record have met industry-defined requirements and is appropriately managing risk, and places Centura Health in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks, and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST CSF helps organizations address these challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
“Health care providers are under great pressure to meet complex compliance requirements,” said Frank Biondolillo, Vice President, Information Technology, Centura Health. “Achieving HITRUST CSF Certification three times in a row validates our unwavering commitment to securing our patients’ data. This status assures that Centura Health and our 21,000 caregivers are meeting the health care industry’s highest standards in managing risk and protecting health information.”
“HITRUST has been working with the industry to ensure the appropriate information protection requirements are met when sensitive health information is accessed or stored in a cloud environment. By taking the steps necessary to obtain HITRUST CSF Certified status, Centura Health has once again distinguished themselves as an organization that people can count on to keep their information safe,” said Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST.
