Centura Health and Keefe Memorial Hospital Sign Affiliate Agreement to Keep Care in the Local Community
(CENTENNIAL, COLO.) Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, and Keefe Memorial Hospital, in Cheyenne Wells, Colo., have signed an affiliation agreement that supports Keefe Memorial Hospital in continuing to deliver high quality health care to the community it serves. The organizations first came together in 2009, signing a Critical Access Hospital Network Agreement, and remain focused on keeping care local to deliver optimal health value.
Through the affiliation agreement, Keefe Memorial Hospital will collaborate with Centura Health to increase access to care through visiting specialists and telehealth. Centura Health and Keefe Memorial Hospital will work together to develop a coordinated system of care across the region by sharing services, improving operational efficiencies and streamlining the exchange of health information, ultimately improving the patient experience for residents of Cheyenne County.
“Keefe Memorial is glad to continue this partnership with Centura Health,” said Ginny Hallagin, CEO, Keefe Memorial Hospital. “With the ever-changing health care regulatory environment, as well as patient care expectations, we know we have a partner in Centura Health that will be with us well into the future. We have already seen some physician expertise added through this partnership, which increases the resources for the providers as well.”
Keefe Memorial Hospital will work closely with leadership from St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan., and Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs. “We are committed to joining with Keefe Memorial Hospital to plan for the future of health care delivery,” said Tom Gessel, senior vice president, operations and network development, Centura Health. “We are committed to delivering the highest level of care as close to home as possible and partnering with small and rural hospitals aligned with our Mission to ensure that services remain in the local community.”
Keefe Memorial Hospital becomes the 13th independent affiliate to join the Centura Health network, along with Conejos County Hospital in La Jara, Colo.; Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland, Kan.; Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida, Colo.; Lincoln Community Hospital and Nursing Home in Hugo, Colo.; Logan County Hospital in Oakley, Kan.; Morton County Health System in Elkhart, Kan.; Middle Park Medical Center in Kremmling and Granby, Colo.; Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood, Kan.; Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte, Colo.; San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo.; St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville, Colo. and Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kan.
