Pediatric emergency center is part of agreement to increase access and improve care for Colorados children

ENGLEWOOD, CO (Oct. 15, 2012) Centura Health and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children have signed a letter of intent to explore options for collaboration to expand and improve pediatric services across the region. The goal is to create an integrated system of pediatric care across the region that brings together the experience of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Childrens comprehensive pediatric care guidelines and hundreds of affiliated pediatric specialists with the resources and reach of Centura Health, Colorados largest health care provider.

The next step in this alignment is the opening of Pediatric Emergency Care at Centura Healths Littleton Adventist Hospital on Oct. 15. The Pediatric Emergency Care center will be staffed with board-certified pediatricians who will follow Rocky Mountain Hospital for Childrens quality protocols.

Both Centura Health and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children believe health care should be delivered locally whenever possible and this agreement will let local families know their children are getting the best care available wherever they live.

The Littleton Adventist Hospital alignment adds to a relationship that began earlier this year when Centura Health and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children began looking at how they could work together to enhance pediatric services at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs. It also builds upon existing relationships between Littleton Adventist Hospital and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Presbyterian/St. Luke Medical Center.
