Centura Health To Host Rocky Mountain Neurocritical Care Conference Oct. 29-30 In Denver


This event, endorsed by the Neurocritical Care Society, will provide latest research and education on management of life-threatening stroke, cardiac arrest, seizures, trauma, infection, tumors, and neuromuscular and other disorders.

DENVER, CO - (Oct. 25, 2013) The Centura Health Neurosciences Network will host the inaugural Rocky Mountain Neurocritical Care Conference Oct. 29-30 at the Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver. The Centura Health Neurosciences Network is part of Centura Health, and brings together the regions leading specialists in neurology, neurocritical care and neuroemergency.

The event is designed to help health care professionals prepare for the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties Neurocritical Care Exam. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Colorado Medical Society through the joint sponsorship of St. Anthony Hospital and Centura Health. St. Anthony Hospital designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Session topics include intracranial monitoring interpretation, airway management and mechanical ventilation specific to neurologically ill patients, aspects of consciousness and acute brain injury, and neurocritical care complications. This course will include cutting-edge talks by three special out-of-state guests: Dr. J. Claude Hemphill III from the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital; Dr. Edward M. Manno from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation; and Dr. Robert E. Hoesch from Intermountain Neurosciences Institute, Salt Lake City, Utah; all three are forefront neurointensivists and directors of their respective programs.

The program will focus on the latest research and information related to the management of life-threatening stroke, cardiac arrest, seizures, trauma, infection, tumors, and neuromuscular and other disorders.

The conference is targeted at hospitalists, intensivists, trauma surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, endovascular interventionalists, anesthesiologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.
