Dynamic health neighborhood in Westminster slated for completion in early 2015

WESTMINSTER, CO - (May 16, 2013) Centura Health, Colorados leading healthcare network, today celebrated the official groundbreaking of a new 350,000 square foot center of health and wellness for Colorado that will be connected to the recently-opened St. Anthony North Medical Pavilion located at 144th Avenue and I-25. This expanded health campus will incorporate a new health neighborhood approach to wellness care with a strong focus on prevention. Offering a variety of health care services, the campus is designed to deliver greater access and convenience to the communities of Westminster, Broomfield, Erie, Brighton, Northglenn, Thornton, Firestone, Fredrick, and Dacono.

According to Carole Peet, president and CEO of St. Anthony North Hospital, the state-of-the-art facility will incorporate a unique new health neighborhood. We continue to move upstream to better manage the health of our communities, Peet stated. As we develop the St. Anthony North health campus and our health neighborhoods, we are focused on helping individuals manage their health from a wellness perspective.

More than 300 attended the official groundbreaking ceremony, which featured a video presentation; remarks from Ms. Peet, Westminster Mayor Nancy McNally, and Centura Health president and CEO Gary Campbell; and a Wellness Journey demonstrating some of ways patients can focus on their own personal health and wellness.

The new health campus will offer health education, access to primary care and comprehensive ambulatory services along with inpatient services that provide outstanding service and convenience for customers. Our goal is to educate patients and address health issues they may be faced with before they arise, said Carol Butler, VP of Patient Care & Operations. We encourage our patients to be advocates for their own health and wellness. We are caring for the whole patient in a proactive manner.

Construction work has already begun on the project, which is scheduled for completion in early 2015. Todays groundbreaking event marks the beginning of a capital campaign for the St. Anthony North Health Foundation. The campus will include:

  • 60,000 square feet of integrated physician clinic space for primary care and wellness management, surgery, womens services and specialty care with an estimated 54 on-campus physicians
  • Outpatient diagnostics and treatment center
  • Ambulatory surgery center with inpatient surgery capabilities
  • Womens Center with labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms
  • Level III trauma center with a state-of-the-art emergency department and integrated diagnostics
  • 92 inpatient beds in a flexible configuration that can adapt to the health needs of the population and changing health care delivery models
