(LONGMONT, COLO.) After a nationwide search, Longmont United Hospital (LUH) announced today that they have named a new Chief Executive Officer, Christina (Tina) Johnson, MD. Dr. Johnson will become one of two female physicians in Colorado to become the Chief Executive Officer of a hospital. She will join Longmont United Hospital – Centura Health on May 14, 2018.
Johnson is an experienced and dynamic leader with more than 20 years of clinical and operational experience. Johnson joins Longmont United Hospital from Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, CO, where she has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2015. During her tenure, Johnson led business development of multiple clinical service lines, implementation of clinical excellence programs and multiple physician recruitments. With both clinical and operations experience, Johnson will help Longmont United Hospital continue to serve every neighborhood and every community to create caring impact.

Johnson earned her BA in Biology from Reed College and completed her Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University. She completed residency in Internal Medicine at University of California, San Francisco and did a second residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health. She most recently earned her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver.

Joseph Tasse has been acting as the Interim President and CEO of Longmont United Hospital since Mitchell Carson departed in October 2017. Over the next few weeks, Tasse will be working with Johnson to ensure a smooth transition as she steps into her new role.
