Dr. Lonnie Imlay elected Medical Chief of Staff at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center

(PUEBLO, COLO.) Dr. Lonnie Imlay has been elected Medical Chief of Staff at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center by the hospitals medical staff. He will serve a two year term. As chief of staff, Imlay will work with the hospitals medical staff in coordination with hospital administration, nursing and other patient care services to ensure safe, high-quality care for all patients.

Imlay is a general surgeon and has been with Corwin Clinic Surgical since 2012. He also serves as medical director over St. Mary-Corwins trauma services program.

Dr. Imlay received his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is an experienced Army surgeon, and in 2009 served a seven month deployment in Afghanistan with a Forward Surgical Team. Among other positions, Dr. Imlay has notably served as Chief of the General Surgery Clinic for an Army hospital in Germany, commander of a Forward Surgical Team, and the Chief of the Department of Surgery at Evans Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado. He retired fromthe Army in 2010.

Dr. Imlay brings diverse medical and leadership experience to the position and I am very, very pleased that he has chosen to serve as our Medical Chief of Staff, said Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Charles Raye.

Other physicians elected to medical staff leadership include Dr. Jenny Lee, a cardiologist with Pueblo Cardiology who serves as Chief of Staff Elect, and Dr. Raj Jain, a radiologist with Pueblo Radiological Group who serves as Treasurer.
