Free Injury Prevention Run Clinic at Porter Adventist Hospital
(Denver, Colo.) – September 11, 2019 – There are hundreds of races for runners ranging from 5Ks to marathons in the Denver metro area every year. Given the popularity of running in Colorado this should not be a surprise, but what is surprising is how many runners miss training time due to injuries – by some studies it’s as much as 80 percent. On September 18th, the Centura Center for Therapy at Porter Adventist Hospital is hosting a free clinic to discuss common running injuries, self-correcting exercises, self-assessment techniques and performance tips.
“Knowing basic techniques to self-assess and correct can be the difference of preventing many different injuries,” said Dr. Lindsey Arnold, the host of the class. “As a life-long runner and a licensed physical therapist, I am excited to help runners learn how to stay healthy, perform better and most importantly, to stay on their feet.”
Dr. Lindsey Arnold, PT, DPT, is a proud member of the Centura outpatient physical therapy team. Dr. Arnold has ten years of experience as a physical therapist and a doctorate from Northwestern University. She is certified in dry needling as well as a certified manual physical therapist.
The class will be held on September 18th, at the Center for Outpatient Therapy, located at 850 E. Harvard Ave, Denver CO, 80210, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. For more information and to RSVP please contact LindseyArnold@Centura.Org.
