GBHH&H sponsors new Thursday afternoon grief support group

March 3, 2014

Hospice Chaplains Angela DeVore and John Grummon, and Social Worker Cathy Soeken will co-facilitate the support group.

Group members will provide support and healing for one another, DeVore said. Grief work requires a whole new ordering of ones life and understanding. It is helpful to share with others in the process of finding your new normal.

Soeken noted that all discussions are confidential. Participants can share their feelings, thoughts and experiences, she said. Sharing memories and photos, poetry or other significant mementos is encouraged too. This is a good way to allow other group members the opportunity to know more about the loved ones being mourned.

Anyone interested in attending the grief support group may contact DeVore, Grummon or Soeken for further details by calling 620-792-8171.
