Give a Gift That Keeps Growing

Purchase a seedling through the Legacy Forest and help patients in need

FRISCO, Colo., Dec. 16, 2010- In 2010, Summit County rallied to raise funds for home care and hospice services in Summit County and to revive our beetle devastated forests. Through the Legacy Forest 1,800 seedlings were planted in five Summit County towns raising nearly $20,000 for Bristlecone Health Services, the only hospice and home care agency in Summit County.

Each thriving seedling tells a story of love, bravery and compassion and is planted in memory, honor or in celebration of a special person, pet or event. This holiday season give the gift of a Legacy Forest seedling in support of home care and hospice programs in Summit County while at the same time renewing the beauty of our mountain valley. With a donation starting at $20, you can designate where you would like your seedling(s) planted. Planting areas include: Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone and Silverthorne. You can also plant your seedling in your own yard. Donations of $1,000 or more receive a tribute plaque at a Legacy Forest planting site.

Seedlings will be planted June 4, 2011 in a community-wide tree planting event and throughout the summer months by our community partners: Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, Summit County Open Space and Trails Department and through our Summit County towns.

Your donation to the Legacy Forest will ensure that terminal patients and recovering home care patients and their families receive high-quality care at home from Bristlecone Health Services. In the past 12 months, Bristlecone Health Services has provided over 5,400 home care visits to Summit County residents and visitors. Over 870 visits and $80,000 in funding was provided from June 1, 2009 - July 30, 2010 to patients with limited or no insurance, 46% of those patients were under the age of sixteen.
