Langstaff-Brown to Become Penrose Mountain Urgent Care

New providers. Team Health, a national leader in emergency services, will be staffing the new facility beginning Sept. 1. Specially trained nurse practitioners will be available seven days a week to provide walk-in urgent care services to both adults and children.

New technology. Penrose-St. Francis has expanded services to include ultrasound, digital X-ray and outpatient lab services, seven days a week, at Penrose Mountain Urgent Care.

As the health care needs of our community changes, we, too, have to evolve in order to meet those needs," said Rebecca Morland, manager of Penrose Mountain Urgent Care. This new model of care provides convenient access for routine and urgent medical needs, but also allows us to tap into the resources at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs for those unique or more critical needs. We are lucky to have one of Americas best hospitals only a few miles down the pass from us and changing our name reinforces our connection with Penrose-St. Francis."

St. Francis Hospital founded the original facility in 1982 as the Rampart Range Emergency Center. The name was later changed to Langstaff-Brown Urgent Care Center as a memorial tribute to Dr. Kim Langstaff, a Teller County resident and former chief of emergency medicine at St. Francis, and Pete Brown, a former Woodland Park mayor.

To continue the Langstaff-Brown heritage, the building will be renamed the Langstaff-Brown Medical Campus. In addition to urgent care services, the Langstaff-Brown Medical Campus is home to Woodland Park Colorado Sports and Spine Center with physical therapy and rehabilitation services. Colorado Springs Health partners are also opening a family practice office on the campus on Sept. 1.

Penrose Mountain Urgent Care will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. The facility is located at 41 State Highway 67. Call them at 719-686-0551 or find them online at
