Mercy Home Health Recognized Among Nations Top 100 Home Care Agencies

November 30, 2015

(DURANGO, COLO.) Mercy Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Mercy Home Health has been recognized as a Top 100 HomeCare Elite agency by National Research Corporation and DecisionHealth. This places Mercy Home Health among the top four percent of home care agencies in the nation. Mercy Home Health was one of only two agencies in the Colorado to be recognized among the nations top 100 home care agencies. A total of 32 home care agencies in Colorado were named among the top 25 percent in the nation.

"It takes true dedication and tremendous hard work to be named in the top 100 home health agencies in the country, said Tina Gallegos, director of Mercy Home Health and Hospice of Mercy. This designation is a direct indicator of the commitment of our staff who work tirelessly to deliver quality, compassionate care to our patients. We are thrilled to share this remarkable achievement with the communities we serve."

Now in its tenth year, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of agencies in the nation and highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Since 2005, Mercy has been recognized as a top 100 agency five times, as a top 500 agency four times, and among the top 25% of agencies once.

Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice (process measure) implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,718 agencies considered, 2,431 are elite.

The award is sponsored by OCS HomeCare by National Research Corporation, a provider of home health and hospice metrics and analytics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line, a home care industry publication.
