Sleep Center Open House

(GARDEN CITY, KAS.) An open house for the Neurodiagnostic and Sleep Disorder Center at St. Catherine Hospital (SCH) is planned for Thursday, June 25th at 401 E. Spruce from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The Sleep Center is located on the lower level of SCH in a familiar atmosphere complete with all the comforts of home including private bedrooms and bathrooms.

Those attending the open house are invited to complete an 8 question survey to determine their risk for obstructive sleep apnea. Items covered in the survey include excessive daytime sleepiness, frequency of snoring, observed apneas, insomnia, falling asleep driving, age, and body mass. Those responding with a score greater than nine or more may be experiencing the onset of sleep apnea.

The center began in 1998 as a department within St. Catherine Hospital and became accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in 2006. The center offers flexible hours to accommodate work schedules of patients including daytime studies for those who work night shifts. The sleep center is open Monday - Friday. Referral from a primary care provider is required to schedule an appointment.
