SMC to Celebrate Cancer Survivors

(PUEBLO, COLO.) The Dorcy Cancer Center at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center will host a National Cancer Survivors Day celebration on Wednesday, June 1, from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at the Rusted Poppy Inn, 130 W. Orman Ave. The event pays tribute to those who have survived cancer or who are currently overcoming cancer. It features live music, snacks and refreshments and informational booths.

This event is free and open to the public and offers cancer survivors the chance to celebrate life with fellow survivors as well as with the caregivers and health care professionals who have helped them along their journey. Survivors have the opportunity to visit with other individuals who have undergone similar experiences, while bonding over cancer survivorship.

We invite survivors to join us in this celebration as we honor their strength in coping with cancer, said Brenda Galassini, program manager, oncology, Dorcy Cancer Center. Cancer survivors and their friends and family are welcome to celebrate their journey, and we are honored to support them in this influential event designed to empower them to lead a happy and productive life after cancer.
