SMC to Offer Joint Replacement Seminar

August 22, 2016

(PUEBLO, COLO.) St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center will host a free joint replacement seminar on Monday, Sept. 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Dorcy Cancer Center, 2004 Lake Ave. The interactive seminar features a presentation from Charles Hanson, MD, board certified orthopedic surgeon, who will detail the latest techniques and treatment options for knee and hip pain.

A number of individuals may be eligible for a knee and hip replacement, and this forum provides the opportunity for them to learn more and be well informed of possible treatment options, said Margie Stratton, manager, St. Mary-Corwin Joint Replacement Center. While a joint replacement may sound like a daunting procedure, there are leading-edge technologies that provide excellent outcomes, and we aim to help individuals understand more about those options.

According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, more than seven million Americans are currently living with an artificial knee or hip. Further, the prevalence of knee and hip replacements increases with age, as adults age 80 to 89 years old are undergoing the most knee and hip replacement procedures.
To sign up, visit the St. Mary-Corwin website and click on the Community tab, then the Events link and search for joint replacement seminar.
