Stroll for Stroke is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together to support such an important cause, as stroke is a leading cause of death in our nation, said Ashley Trujillo, coordinator, stroke program, St. Mary-Corwin. Through this 5k fun run and walk, were excited for individuals of all ages to learn more about how to prevent and recognize stroke and partake in healthy activities that help to inspire health.

According to the American Stroke Association, strokes are the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S., and kill nearly 130,000 individuals each year. Lifestyle choices including diet, smoking, high cholesterol and weight are leading risk factors but can be reduced greatly if modified or ceased.
