St. Anthony Hospital Earns Emergency Nurses Association 2018 Lantern Award
(LAKEWOOD, COLO.) St. Anthony Hospital is proud to announce it is among 19 emergency departments in the nation to receive the prestigious Emergency Nurses Association’s (ENA) 2018 Lantern Award for demonstrating exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.
This distinguished award showcases the most efficient emergency departments in the nation and recognizes them for their accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care to deliver the best outcomes. The award, named in honor of Florence Nightingale who is credited with changing nursing from an untrained job to a skilled, science-based profession, represents Nightingale’s spirit of providing excellence in health care and refining the profession to highlight leading-edge care.
“In keeping with our longstanding tradition of providing high quality and compassionate care to individuals in the communities we serve, this award aligns with our commitment to providing clinical excellence and optimizing superior patient outcomes through a solid foundation of patient safety,” said Peter Powers, Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “This accomplishment would not be possible without our team of dedicated teams including nurses, physicians and non-clinical associates who selflessly give of their time and talents to ensure our emergency department is among the best in the nation.”
The Lantern Award acts as a visible symbol to patients that the receiving emergency department values excellence and delivers exceptional care. It shines a light on the respective emergency department’s commitment to providing safe practice and safe care.
St. Anthony Hospital will display its Lantern Award in the emergency department. Also, as part of this significant recognition, St. Anthony Hospital will be recognized in nationwide ENA publications, on the ENA website and at the association’s annual conference- Emergency Nursing 2018 in Pittsburg, Pa., where a St. Anthony Hospital associate will represent the hospital for the formal honor.
