St. Anthony Hospital’s Executive Chef To Defend Title At Culinary Competition

(LAKEWOOD, COLO.) St. Anthony Hospital’s very own Joe Colcleasure, Executive Chef, will face off with chefs from some of Colorado’s best-known hospitals in the Colorado Hospital Chef’s Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Hosted by The Children’s Treehouse Foundation, proceeds benefit its Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery (CLIMB®) program.

Chefs from across the front range will compete in a three-round culinary competition and winners in the categories of “Overall” and “People’s Choice” will be named based on feedback from a panel of judges and eventgoers.

As the region’s leading Level 1 Trauma Center, St. Anthony Hospital admits more than 11,000 patients per year. Chef Joe leads the charge of providing patients, visitors and associates with access to nutritious and tasty food, tailored to meet their specific needs.

“As I return to defend my title as the overall winner of the Colorado Hospital Chef’s Challenge, my passion for helping those in our community lies at the heart of why I do this,” said Joe. “I’m proud to represent St. Anthony Hospital and continue to partner with The Children’s Treehouse Foundation for continued opportunities to support those in our community, especially children in these special circumstances.”

The CLIMB® program encompasses a support and intervention group for children whose parents are battling cancer. The multi-faceted program brings together affected children with the oncology professionals who are responsible for caring for their parents to create information, trainings, advocacy and special events so these children are better geared to cope with their parent’s illness in a healthy way.
