St. Catherine Hospital Diabetes Class
(GARDEN CITY, KAS.) Millions of people are affected by diabetes.The diagnosis of diabetes means living with a complicated, lifelong disease that is frustrating and time consuming. At St. Catherine Hospital, we believe education can have an important impact on your disease and that knowledge can help improve your quality of life. This begins with training and education on your diabetes. The St. Catherine Hospital All Day Diabetes Class will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and is recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
With over 50 years of combined diabetes teaching experience, Joan Booker, Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator along with Julie Tull, Registered and Licensed Dietitian, cover topics such as treatment options, lab values and goals, dietary management, counting carbohydrates, label reading, eating out, testing your blood sugar and using your meter, chronic complications, physical activity, acute complications, medications, and coping with your disease.
The cost of the program includes materials, a meal, and is often covered by private insurance or Medicare. You must pre-register by calling 620-272-2323.
