St. Mary-Corwin To Host Animal Companion Remembrance

(PUEBLO, COLO.)St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center will host an animal companion remembrance on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2:30 pm in the hospitals St. Therese Chapel. The service of live music, reflection, poetry, prayer, candle lighting and fellowship designed to honor the love, humor, loyalty and solace animal companions provide. It is co-sponsored by Montgomery-Steward Funeral Home.

The loss of an animal companion at any age can be a difficult emotional and spiritual experience. If you or someone you know has experienced the loss of an animal companion, whether a family pet, zoo animal, service animal or working animal, youre invited to remember and pay special tribute to your animal companion. Those attending are encouraged to bring a small memento of the animal companiona leash, photo, toy, urnto be placed in front of the altar at the beginning of the service.

Many individuals and families find comfort in celebrating the lives of the pets they have lost, their past pets or those pets that have been separated from them for any reason, said Rev. Linda Stetter, director of mission and spiritual care, St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center. All those regardless of faith tradition or belief system, who want to remember their pets, are welcome to attend.
