St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center Health Foundation Golf Tournament Fundraiser

(Pueblo, CO) -On July 14, St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center Health Foundation will host a golf tournament to support Flight For Life Colorado. The event will take place at the Pueblo Country Club Golf Course and proceeds from the tournament will help support Flight For Lifes educational outreach efforts throughout rural Colorado.

Supporting the Flight For Life golf tournament is the best investment you can make on behalf of someone who is in critical need of air transport. Every patient transported by Flight For Life is cared for by specially trained flight nurses and paramedics who are trained in pre-hospital, emergency and intensive care. Flight For Life makes the transfer of critically ill and injured patients much more time efficient than ground travel. This service combines the rapid transportation, medical expertise and modern technology needed to make every minute count in an emergency. Flight For Life is available 24 hours a day and has successfully provided lifesaving transport for rural patients whenever and wherever it is needed.

Lifeguard 4, the helicopter based at St. Mary-Corwin, has the largest rescue area of all the Flight For Life helicopters, flying from the southeastern edges of Colorado to the southern mountains. St. Mary-Corwin is the only hospital south of Colorado Springs to provide Flight For Life services out of Pueblo and has provided a valuable air ambulance service to the community since 2004. Flight for Life will transport anyone, regardless of their financial resources or insurance coverage.

The funds we raise for Flight for Life helps us purchase critical equipment for Lifeguard 4, and supports education outreach programs throughout southeastern Colorado. This year the funds will support educational programs for first responders living in rural communities, around a variety of topics including preparation of the patient with STEMI for transport, trauma patient stabilization, care of the head-injured patient and initial exam and care of the stroke patient. Said Jayne Mazur, St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation President.

The deadline to register for the tournament is July 20. The cost to register for the golf tournament is $150 per person or $600 for a team of four. Sponsorships are available. All golfers will receive lunch and a t-shirt. Participating golf teams will have the opportunity to take a picture with the Lifeguard 4 Flight For Life crew. Teams are registered on a first come, first serve basis. Call 557-4232 to reserve your spot now.
