St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center To Host 16th Annual Wilz Trauma Symposium

(PUEBLO, COLO.)Professionals in the field of trauma care are invited to the 16thannual Wilz Trauma Symposium sponsored by theSt. Mary-Corwin Medical CenterHealth Foundation.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main St. The daylong event provides interactive educational modules and cutting-edge information for physicians, registered nurses, and EMS associates.

This years event features keynote speaker Edward M. Racht, M.D., and several professionals in trauma care. Subject matter experts discuss various aspects of this field including critical care, raising awareness regarding abuse or maltreatment, resuscitation methods, and trauma research. A skills lab is also offered in conjunction with the event on Friday, Feb. 26, at St. Mary-Corwins Simulation Lab, 6th floor, East Tower, 1008 Minnequa Ave. The deadline for the lab is Friday, Feb. 19.

The symposium began as a memorial to Bill Wilz, M.D., who served as St. Mary-Corwins trauma director until his death in 1999. This activity is planned in accordance with requirements and policies from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and is accredited by the Colorado Medical Society.
