St. Mary-Corwin Medical Centers Breast Center of Excellence Receives Funding for Uninsured Women

(Pueblo, Colo.) --- Women in southern Colorado who are uninsured still have access to award-winning breast health care thanks to a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. St. Mary-Corwin Medical Centers Breast Center of Excellence, the only breast imaging facility in southern Colorado to receive the Womens Choice Award, is providing free mammograms thanks to a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. One of the goals of the Susan G.Komen Foundation is to create access to care for underserved women who need breast cancer.

You must have a primary care physician (PCP) who will receive the results of the mammogram. If you have a PCP, simply call (719) 557-5931, and press option 2 to schedule your appointment. Let them know you are participating in the Komen mammogram program.

If you do not have a primary care physician please call Southern Colorado Family Medicine at (719) 557-5855 and let them know you need an order for a mammogram under the Komen. The Breast Center of Excellence at St. Mary-Corwin is a recipient of the Womens Choice Award as one of Americas Best Breast Centers, acknowledging its dedication to providingexceptional patient care and treatment. Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among American women according to the American Cancer Society, and one in eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.
