Trauma Review

(FRISCO, COLO.) On September 24, 2015, St. Anthonys Summit Medical Center completed their onsite Trauma review from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The review process established by the State of Colorado requires trauma facilities pass over a 126 different elements, proven to factor in the overall trauma mortality. During the review the inspectors look to see if SASMC is meeting the standards of a Level III Trauma Center, if the best interests of the trauma patients are being met, and how St. Anthonys Summit Medical Center integrates into the statewide emergency medical and trauma care system. The review committee was impressed with St. Anthonys Summit Medical Center and noted the exceptional practices that could be the template for other hospitals. The official letter from the state it says, The reviewers noted no deficiencies and no items met with reservation at the review. The Department is pleased to again designate St. Anthonys Summit Medical Center as a Level III Trauma Center.

The review committee noted that St. Anthonys Summit Medical Center is one of the busiest Level III trauma facilities in the State and their Centura affiliation as well as long standing team of professionals contributed to their spectacular review. In addition to a top- notch staff SASMC trauma staff, the review committee noted the administrations commitment to improving the systems and capabilities of the Orthopaedic specialists who provide care in the hospital. Reviewers noted the Orthopaedic PA position created to integrate the hospital systems and the affiliated specialists in support of our patients and specialists.
