Underwood Named as one of 100 Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know

(PUEBLO, COLO.) St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center announced today that Robert M. Underwood, MD, MHCDS, FAAEM, chief medical officer, has been listed as one of the top 100 Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know 2017, by Beckers Hospital Review. This is the second consecutive year that Underwood has been recognized for his instrumental role in overseeing the clinical direction of St. Mary-Corwin and identifying and defining new and innovative strategies to uphold the mission of the nonprofit organization.

Underwood has served St. Mary-Corwin since September 2015, and has had extensive experience in administrative roles including serving as a medical director for Sentara RMH Medical Center, and as a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Underwood has a masters degree in health care delivery science from Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., he earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC., and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC.
