The Guest House Ministry

Under the umbrella of our Guest House Ministry Fund, the Penrose-St. Francis Hospital Foundation will be able to better support the ongoing operational needs for both guest houses – the John Zay Guest House at Penrose Hospital and the Woody and Millie Ingram Guest House at St. Francis Hospital (opening in Spring 2023).

Hospital patients & families have a local space

These guest houses allow us to offer a conveniently located space for our patients receiving treatment at the hospital or families with a baby in the NICU. This convenience helps to relieve stress while managing a medical condition and many times reduces the financial impact of having to secure a hotel as well – together this fosters improved healing. Our intention for the Guest House Ministry aligns with our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ and our whole person care by providing a place of love and respite for patients and their families.

Guest House at St. Francis

Woody & Millie Ingram Guest House

In 2008, the Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation worked collaboratively with HBA Cares to build the John Zay Guest House – affectionately known as “the house that love built.” Ten years later, the Foundation along with HBA Cares added 11 more suites to the John Zay Guest House to better meet the needs of patients and families we serve.

Here we are today with the Woody and Millie Ingram Guest House at St. Francis on the horizon. This hospitality home, located on the campus of the St. Francis Hospital, will welcome patients and families, provide respite and an opportunity for families to remain together during difficult, and oftentimes prolonged, treatments and care. Woody and Millie Ingram Guest House at St. Francis, much like the John Zay Guest House, will provide precisely what is needed – a place to sleep, shower, eat, pray and to find comfort, companionship and community specifically focused on families of our most fragile patients, our NICU babies, and patients undergoing cancer treatment.
