Porter Adventist Hospital Foundation has devoted its efforts to raising funds for Breast Care Center at Porter Adventist Hospital. The Breast Cancer Center introduces a person to their entire cancer team over the course of one day and helps them understand how each member of the team works for them. This program has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.

The Porter Hospitality House will be a home for out-of-town patients and their families to stay while undergoing treatment. It is important that patients and families be physically located near the hospital so as to reduce any stress or inconvenience while receiving the best care Porter Adventist Hospital has to offer. This facility is also part of the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses Incorporated.

For over 25 years, thousands of people in the Denver community have had their lives enriched by Porter Hospice. With a commitment to providing quality care to those nearing the end of their life journey, Porter Hospice ensures that every patient receives the dignity, comfort and compassion they deserve, regardless of their ability to pay. Our hospice care is provided in private homes, nursing homes and at our 17-bed residential facility.

Kids Alive! is one of the very few organizations in the Denver area that provides support for children, ages 6-16, of parents with cancer. We are a unique, privately funded program offered at no charge to any family where a parent is dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Our goal is to provide a safe, helpful environment for children of cancer patients where we can:

  • Create a place for a child to be a child - to experience fun, support and continuity of life apart from catastrophic illness.
  • Facilitate a better relationship between cancer patients and their families, reducing guilt and anxiety in children.
  • Help parents interpret their children’s behavior as adaptive to the trauma in the family and improve communication in the family.
  • Develop awareness of resources for both parents and children.

All applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. We will aim to contact all individuals who apply or request information in timely manner. Kids Alive! is a free program made possible by the generosity of community donors, Porter Adventist Hospital and the Porter Adventist Hospital Foundation.

The Nora Earnest Scholarship Fund provides monetary scholarships to parents dealing with cancer. With the help of this scholarship assistance, we encourage families to take a break from the realities of cancer treatment, travel to the Colorado Mountains for several peaceful days, and reconnect as a family. Through the support of our program and partners, scholarships are available for families dealing with cancer to help cover costs associated with lodging, food, travel, and entertainment during their stay in the mountains.
