About Elizabeth Swanson, MD

Dr. Swanson is a board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She attended college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with honors as an English major. After that she obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She performed her internship at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and went on to complete her dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children's Hospital in Arizona. She is currently Vice President of the Colorado Dermatological Society and will be President of the Society in 2017. Dr. Swanson loves sports (especially the Broncos and the Rockies!) and likes to spend her free time hiking, skiing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family, friends and her 2 dogs.Dr Swanson went into dermatology because she felt like it allowed her to "fix" things for people so that they could live happier and healthier lives. She chose Pediatric Dermatology because she realized that it simply made her happy to help kids.
