About James Montgomery, MD

Dr. Montgomery is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who has been practicing cataract and refractive surgery in Colorado since 2001. His other areas of specialization include: Macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and complex diagnostic eye disease.
Dr. Montgomery has performed over 13,000 cataract surgeries and over 17,000 laser vision correction procedures. Dr. Montgomery is credentialed at the highest level on multiple laser platforms. He is also credentialed for specialty lens implants including ReSTOR, ReZoom, Crystalens and Visian ICL.
Dr. Montgomery graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1992. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, he completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Zale Hospital, and Parkland Hospital in 1996. Dr. Montgomery became board-certified in 1998. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
