About Monica Cooper-Abarca, MD

Dr. Abarca is a native Coloradan, born and raised in Denver and Greeley-she received her medical degree in 1991 from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado. After completing her internship and residency at the University of Colorado, she practiced for a short time at Thornton Obstetrics before joining Women's Health Care Associates in 1998.
She is Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Fellow. She belongs to the American Medical Association, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Arapahoe/Douglas/Elbert Medical Society.
Dr. Abarca has four children. Her personal interests are reading, running, hiking, biking, as well as family and volunteer activities. She brings a special talent to WHCA as she is fluent in Spanish.
