About Paul Leo, MD

Paul Leo, MD, understands that pain affects people differently. His goal is to find the best solution to each person’s problem. He believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to pain management, which may include a combination of manual therapies, emotional support, medications, and interventional procedures. Dr. Leo treats chronic pain and acute pain, including cervical (neck), thoracic (chest), and lumbar (lower back) pain, plus joint pain and neuropathic pain. He also treats headaches and migraines. He performs interventional pain management, regenerative medicine (including PRP and stem cell injections), medically assisted treatment (MAT), implantation of spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators and intrathecal pain pumps, radiofrequency and cryotherapy ablations. Dr. Leo also does cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal injections (such as epidural steroids and facets), plus joint injections, trigger point injections, dry needling, and peripheral nerve blocks.

Dr. Leo received his Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his surgery internship PGYI–Surgery at SUNY Downstate/Kings Country Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a PGY III-V residency in anesthesiology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York, and a PGYII–Surgery residency at New York Medical College at Lincoln Hospital and Mental Health Center in The Bronx, New York. His fellowship experience includes a pain management fellowship at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. He is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (anesthesiology & pain management) and is Level II certified by the Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Dr. Leo enjoys skiing, baseball, martial arts, meditation, music, reading and astronomy.
