I have been a professional fundraiser for over 24 years. I am originally from Philadelphia, PA but moved to Breckenridge, CO in February 2013 to advance my career in creating my own fundraising and non-profit development consulting firm and explore what the majestic Rocky Mountains have to offer.
In my short time in Summit County, I have come to love the great outdoors more than ever before and expanded my passion for fundraising and increased skillset to support our non-profit community. I have had the opportunity to work with small grass roots organizations such as The National Child Support Enforcement Association in Washington, DC and The Wellness Community Cancer Support of Philadelphia, Colorado Mountain College and Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Philadelphia. I have had the privilege in working with large educational institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania in their Department of Institutional Advancement, and within the Jewish community at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and Hillel of Greater Philadelphia.
My zest for travel allowed myself to work abroad in Guayaquil, Ecuador with an international NGO entitled Juntos Con Los Ninos (Together with the Children) to help children and their families get off the streets, learn a trade, and help their children return to the school and get a formal education. I was also able to teach high school, college and adults English as a Second Language (ESL) and courses on Creative Communications, Public Speaking and the meaning of Philanthropy and Development at Casa Grande Universidad and Universidad Ecotec. Although I’m American, my heart will always be in South America!
I hold a Bachelor of Art in Communication Studies and Minors in Spanish and Political Science from Cedar Crest College, a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management from the University of Pennsylvania and another Master’s degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Additionally, in 2017 I earned the prestigious certificate in Leadership in Development (ILD) from University of Denver.
Under CLE Development LLC, my clients include: Animal Rescue of the Rockies, Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, LiveWell Colorado, Outdoor Mindset, Breckenridge Music Festival, Summit County Community Care Clinic, Summit Historical Society, Wounded Warriors Family Adventures, Colorado Mountain College, The Challenge Foundation in Denver and Paradox Sports in Boulder. I recently worked at the Summit Daily News and Everything Summit to help provide marketing and advertising to restaurants, lodging facilities, and local event groups in Breckenridge.
In 2014 – 2016, I was a board member for The Summit County Library Foundation where I was on the fundraising committee to raise capital for the Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Community Library. In June 2018, I was inducted as a new Breck Rotary Member and currently sit on the membership committee to help organize monthly networking groups throughout Summit County to help those working from home, find a community outside their work environment. In 2019, I received the Rotarian of the Year Award for my work with the Summit County Young Professionals network (SCYP). In 2015, I was given the honor of receiving the Colorado Northwest Small Business Development Award for MTN Town Women Awards in Creative Business. I was humbled by the opportunity and recognition. It’s my life’s work to help those in need to make impactful connections.
In September 2018, I was offered an amazing opportunity to become the new Foundation Officer for the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco. I have the honor of working with amazing medical staff, doctors, clinicians, executive staff, individual and corporate donors along with our wonderful community members to help raise the essential dollars to provide the best, medical care we can to our residents and visitors alike.
Since my passion also includes exploring the great outdoors, I’ve become an avid trail runner. I participated in my first 55k in August 2018 in Silverton. Since then I’ve run another 50k in August 2019 and in July 2020, I ran my first 50 miler to celebrate my 50th birthday! I also enjoy participating in long distance triathlons. I’ve been competing in them since 2006 and have completed three full Ironmans: Arizona 2009 and twice in Lake Placid (2009 and 2012). I’ve reduced the distances to half-ironmans, because, well I need a life! To date I’ve participated in nine (9) half-ironmans since 2008 to 2017. The most memorable one was right here in our own backyard, the highest triathlon in the world in September 2016. I swam 1.2 miles in Lake Dillon, biked 56 miles from Dillon to Montezuma and back, ran 13.1 from Dillon to Frisco and back. To make my training time more enjoyable, I run with my two, awesome fur-babies, Roo and Monroe.
My life wouldn’t be complete without the loving support of my wonderful fiancé, Robbie Dickson and his sweet son, Gavin Dickson. We are planning to elope to Tahiti in May 2021.
