Heart & Vascular Fund
When it comes to our heart and vascular program, Mercy Regional Medical Center seeks to ensure that those we care for receive the best care and future. Our three-year fundraising campaign will allow us add new services and bring to our community new programs, technology, and innovations in care.
The Incredible Dream Campaign will drive our progress. Your generosity and support will fund life-saving medical advancements that keep Mercy on the leading edge of medical innovation. Please consider a gift to advance and enhance cardiac vascular care in the four corners.

Gray Matters Helmet Program
Mercy Regional Medical Center- Trauma Services is committed to injury prevention education and providing a helmet to any child or family member in need of one. Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Trauma Service’s goal is to reduce the number of traumatic brain injuries in our community.Reducing Brain Injury in Our Community
Supporting the Gray Matters helmet program allows us to provide helmet fittings and education in our local community. The project also includes providing a new helmet to any patient admitted to Mercy Hospital or Emergency Department that was involved in an event that would have benefited from a helmet or damage has occurred to their helmet. The lasting value to local families is immeasurable.
Hospice of Mercy & Mercy Hospice House
Hospice of Mercy & Mercy Hospice House support the end-of-life journey empowering patients to live their final days with dignity and respect. The Mercy Health Foundation works to raise the support necessary to cover spiritual care, bereavement, charity care and other expenses not reimbursed by Medicare or insurance.
Donations to Hospice of Mercy support spiritual care, bereavement services and volunteer coordination, which are not reimbursed by Medicare or insurance. Donations to Hospice House support charity care and unforeseen capital or operational needs.
The Mercy Project is designed to financially assist uninsured patients who do not have the ability to meet their financial obligations for services rendered at Mercy. It is available to all established La Plata, Archuleta and San Juan Colorado county residents who have received services at Mercy Regional Medical Center. 100% of funds raised stay local for Mercy patients and families.
Mercy Regional Medical Center continues to experience an increase in providing charity care. As a response to the growing number of uninsured and staggering unreimbursed charity losses, the foundation started the Mercy Project in 2002 and then expanded services to prescription drugs, transportation, lodging and other exceptions.
This program allows patients who “fall through the cracks” to apply for assistance through our financial counselors. Patients maintain their dignity as they become responsible for a small portion of their bill and make small payments for their portion.
