What are the signs of hernia?

There are many different types of hernia, which may be accompanied by groin pain or heartburn or may arise following stomach surgery. Several common hernia types are associated with the stomach, where you might experience nausea, swelling and an aching sensation. Other hernia are linked to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and may show up as a heartburn sensation. Additional symptoms of hernia may include difficulty swallowing or chest pain. If a hernia goes untreated, it may lead to more pain, swelling and increased discomfort in your daily activities.
