About Adolfo Villar, MD

Dr. Villar was born and educated in Lima, Peru. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He then moved to Colorado for his fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Colorado. Dr. Villar joined Colorado Kidney Care part time in 1995 while also working at the Salud Family Health Center in Fort Morgan, CO. Two years later he joined Colorado Kidney Care full time.
He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Medical Association. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, Montana and Wyoming from 2006 to 2011, including being president in 2009-2010.
He is the medical director of the Davita Aurora and the Davita Parker dialysis clinics. He has a special interest in home dialysis modalities. He received the prestigious Davita Doctor Pepper award in 2006.
He is married and has 3 children and 2 stepchildren. He enjoys travelling, skiing, tennis and spending time with his family. Dr. Villar is fluent in Spanish.
