About David Baer, MD

Dr. Baer is a native of Colorado. He attended Cherry Creek High School and graduated at the top of his class. He went on to attend Harvard University and received his degree in Biology, with honors. While at Harvard, he was awarded the Harvard Scholarship for three consecutive years while maintaining a job and being a four-year varsity athlete. He graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Dr. Baer completed his surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While completing this 5 year program, he was also a flight physician for MedFlight, a helicopter rescue/transport service. He has special interests in endocrine surgery including minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Dr. Baer was the Porter Adventist Hospital Chairman of the Surgery Department for 5 years and President-elect for 3 years. He is finishing up his 3 year service as President.Dr. Baer is married with two teenage daughters. He enjoys all outdoor activities particularly running and snow-shoeing. Without a doubt, his greatest enjoyment is attending his daughter's various sporting activities.
